Summer Skating Lessons
Stay cool this summer, try ice skating at the Skating Club of Wilmington. You’re never too young or too old to learn how to ice skate. Summer skating lessons start on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. LESSON TIME: 6:30 to 7:00 PM. Cost: $15, no need to sign up in advance, pay each Wednesday at the door. Cost $15 includes skate rental and lesson. Followed by Public Skating Wednesday evening 7 to 7:50 pm, only $5.
New Air Ducts and Evaporative Condenser
After 26 years of service, it was time to install a new evaporative condenser. Crews used a crane to remove the old unit and replace it with a brand new version of the same unit. In the process we also replaced the air ducts inside the rink. The new round design of the air ducts are meant to deflect hockey pucks much more efficiently since their round shape offers less resistance to the force of the flying hockey puck.

Thank you to all our volunteers and staff!
Thank you to Peter, Dot, Norm Butler, Andrew Newberry & Brian Smith for coming to the 8-hour dig the day after the blizzard so that we could re-open the rink to skaters. The snow drifts were absolutely amazing and it took a couple more days to remove the snow between the arches. Thank you to all our volunteers and staff! Photos by Peter Bilous
